Check the following points if your schedule is not starting, or your Controller is stuck in WAIT mode:
- Make sure your location is set in the SmartThings app:
- On the main page of the SmartThings app, go to the settings menu in the upper left corner designated by 3 bars
- Press the gear which will bring up settings and a map
- Select your location
- Save the settings
- This will allow the scheduling to initialize with the timezone
- Open Spruce Scheduler and save again
- Check that the weather zipcode or station id is valid with weatherunderground.com.
- In the US, the entry field should automatically populate with a zipcode based on your location.
- If you are using a weather station:
- Enter the station on the weatherunderground.com website to make sure an error on the page is not returned
- Try using a zipcode to see if it addresses the issue.
- Make sure a “Master Controller” is not selected (if you only own one controller):
- In your Spruce Scheduler SmartApp, go to the “Valve delays & Pause controls” section
- Scroll to the bottom. Below “Controller Sync”, tap “Select Master Controller” to enter the selection screen.
- Ensure that no devices are selected
- Press Done, then Done, to exit and save
- On the main Scheduler page, the summary should now read “Schedule Sync: None”
- This will take care of the “wait” message when the schedule goes to execute. The Master controller sync is intended for multiple controller setups only.
- On the Controller Thing page, try pressing the refresh button (the circle with one arrow in the lower left).
- This function asks the controller to report back all the current states. If your controller is in WAIT mode, SmartThings believes that the controller is running and therefore will not start the schedule. Pushing the refresh button will sync the states and should clear the WAIT status.
- If you have multiple Scheduler SmartApps set up, try disabling the additional schedules.
